Singapore is moving to make social media age limits harder to bypass as it prepares stronger protections for children and teenagers online.
Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said Aug. 23 that social media platforms will be required to introduce more reliable age checks and stronger safeguards for young users. If those protections remain inadequate, Singapore could impose additional restrictions, including raising an individual platform’s minimum access age above 13.
