OpenAI’s secretive hardware push may be getting a sophisticated new set of eyes.
The company has acquired AI camera startup Glass Imaging in a deal valuing it at more than $300 million, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Neither OpenAI nor Glass Imaging has publicly confirmed the transaction.
The price marks a major increase from Glass Imaging’s roughly $100 million valuation during its previous funding round. The startup had raised about $30 million from investors including GV, Alphabet’s venture arm, and Insight Partners, the Journal reported.
