Apple’s first foldable iPhone is entering a category Samsung has spent eight hardware generations refining. The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999, only about $100 more than the Galaxy Z Fold8, putting two very different foldable strategies within roughly the same $2,000 budget.
The Duo is the stronger fit for buyers already committed to Apple’s ecosystem who value IP68 protection and storage up to 2TB. The Fold8 counters with much lower weight, a thinner folded design, mature foldable multitasking, Samsung DeX, and a lower $1,899.99 starting price.
