Aurum PropTech has agreed to buy Housing.com from Australia’s REA Group in an all-stock transaction valued at ₹458.06 crore, or about $47.5 million. The deal would add the Indian property marketplace to Aurum’s brokerage, rental, developer software, and real estate data portfolio.
Housing.com would give Aurum a large consumer platform alongside PropTiger and Sell.Do. The acquisition could broaden Aurum’s reach across the property transaction cycle, but the company has not detailed how it will integrate the businesses’ systems, customer records, or data controls.
How the all-stock deal works
Aurum will acquire 100% of Locon Solutions, which owns and operates Housing.com. An Aurum exchange disclosure states that REA India will receive 19,793,309 new Aurum shares priced at ₹231.42, or approximately $2.40, each.
The new shares would represent about 20.5% of Aurum’s enlarged share capital. REA India’s existing 5.54% stake is expected to increase to 24.9% after closing, leaving REA Group with a substantial minority interest in Aurum.
In a July 16 announcement to investors, REA said Aurum had the local capabilities and market knowledge to operate its Indian business. The transaction still requires Aurum shareholder approval and other applicable clearances. As of July 22, 2026, Aurum continued to target completion before September 30, 2026.
The agreement follows Aurum’s purchase of PropTiger from REA India for ₹86.45 crore, or about $9 million. Aurum’s audited financial filing states that it obtained control of the residential brokerage on September 25, 2025.
Integration plans remain thin
Aurum says Housing.com will become part of a shared AI and data architecture spanning property search, inventory, brokerage, rentals, financing, and transactions. Its portfolio also includes NestAway and HelloWorld for rentals, Sell.Do for developer sales software, and Aurum Analytica for property data.
As Aurum combines workflows and customer data, comparable enterprise platforms are pairing AI tools with centralized governance controls. Aurum has not disclosed an integration schedule, technical design, cost-savings target, or detailed product road map.
According to the company’s transaction announcement, Housing.com averages more than 58 million monthly visits and has more than 12 million monthly active users. Aurum supplied the figures, which were not independently audited in the transaction materials.
Aurum has also not said whether Housing.com and PropTiger will remain separate or how leads may move between them. Connecting the businesses would require aligned user identities, permissions, approval rules, and audit visibility across different systems.
Any exchange of information among Housing.com, Sell.Do, PropTiger, and Aurum’s rental services would also require controls for consent, cybersecurity, access, and data retention. Changes to third-party API and data-use rules can quickly affect products that depend on another platform’s information.
The acquisition expands Aurum’s reach, but an integrated platform will depend on the technical and governance decisions made after closing.
