YouTube’s services cover all of your media consumption needs from its YouTube Music streaming service, YouTube Premium tiers, and even its live TV streaming service YouTube TV – which is currently on offer until September 30.
Instead of its usual $82.99 monthly fee for its Base Plan, YouTube TV is now just $49.99 a month for two months, knocking $33 off each month and saving you $66. You should note that once the two-month period is up, your fee will return to the $82.99 price tag.
In retrospect, $49.99 a month isn’t a bad deal when you’d usually pay $82.99 for the Base Plan, which includes over 100 channels and multiple user profiles. Also, you can always put what you save with this deal towards YouTube TV add-ons, such as offline downloads and 4K streaming.
Though this YouTube TV deal claims it only applies to first-time subscribers, active members have found a way to claim this discount for themselves – but there’s more on that below.
Today’s best YouTube TV deal
Although YouTube states that this deal is only available for first-time subscribers, there seems to be a way around this, as pointed out by a user on Reddit. According to the user, select existing customers will also be able to take advantage of YouTube TV’s latest deal by following the steps below:
- Sign in to your YouTube TV account, and head to the settings page in a web browser
- Go to ‘Membership’ and select ‘Base plan’. From there, tap ‘Manage’ – which you can find to the right of $82.99
- When you select ‘Accounts’, you should see the latest deal for two months at $49.99 per month. If the option is there, accept it, and the $33 discount should be applied
From the responses in the Reddit thread, it appears that the steps above have worked for the majority of those who are already subscribed to YouTube TV – so it’s definitely worth a shot.
