- The Boys season 5 won’t hold back on the character death front
- Karl Urban says people will be killed off as soon as its final season begins
- Prime Video’s hit satirical superhero show will end after this season
Steady yourselves, fans of The Boys, because your favorite character might not be safe in the hit show’s fifth and final season.
That’s according to Karl Urban, who plays Supe hater William ‘Billy’ Butcher in Prime Video’s TV adaptation, anyway. Speaking to Variety ahead of the premiere of his new Amazon movie The Bluff, Urban warned that the satirical superhero series won’t hold back when it comes to killing off members of its ensemble cast.
“Every season, but particularly this season, from episode one, you’re like, ‘oh wow,'” Urban teased. “Nobody is safe. [There are] fatalities right from the get go. Let’s go! Last season! It’s all on!”

Given the amount of people who’ve shuffled off their mortal coils over the last four seasons, plus the fact this is the hugely popular show’s final hurrah, one or more bloodbaths are to be expected when The Boys season 5 premieres on April 8.
Furthermore, Urban’s comments don’t actually spoil who could be up for the chopping block in The Boys season 5. Still, it’s as good an indication as any that some characters — main or otherwise — who populate this universe won’t survive what’ll be its deadliest eight-part installment to date.
Who’s most likely to die in The Boys season 5?
Who are the most likely candidates to perish, though? Butcher and long-time adversary Homelander seem like dead certs, with the pair’s long-running feud being one of The Boys‘ major storylines that needs resolving before season 5’s final end credits roll.
With Butcher slowly dying of cancer and Homelander being the series’ ghastly Big Bad, I’d be stunned if one or both of them make it out alive. And, with The Boys seemingly building to a climatic showdown between the pair, I don’t think it’s a secret to say they’ll survive long enough for their highly-anticipated duel to take place in the series’ last-ever entry.
As for everyone else, it seems like it’ll be a lottery as to who lives and who dies in The Boys‘ final season. As long as Hughie, Starlight, Mother’s Milk, Frenchie, and Kimiko live to tell the tale, though, I don’t mind who else earns a gravestone.
