September was a very disappointing month for thrillers on Netflix, but October has one of the best thrillers ever made: Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. This black-and-white film is 64 years old in 2024, but it is such an amazing cinematic accomplishment that you won’t mind the lack of color. There are several reasons why this is considered one of the all-time great movies, and chances are high that you’ve seen its most famous scene parodied several times.
Red Dragon is our other spotlight thriller for October, which is fitting for this year since Hannibal Lecter’s name keeps coming up in the presidential election news.
