In any Black Friday sales season, you expect to see the best discounts on and around the day itself – which lands this year on November 28. However, I’ve just spotted a deal on a flagship from last year that has absolutely floored me; right now, you can get the Samsung Galaxy S24 with 128GB of storage for just £389 at EE.

So, what makes the Galaxy S24 such a good choice compared to the handsets ranking in our list of the best Android phones? Firstly, I need to emphasise that this really is a fantastic price – the Galaxy S24 launched at £799, and EE now sells the phone at a typical price of £699. Though we have seen some great discounts on flagship Android phones recently (see the Google Pixel 10 at £599), it’s rare that prices come quite this low.
Secondly, the Galaxy S24 was a leader in performance and features at launch, and as such remains very competitive with current-gen flagships. It’s got a 6.2-inch display, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and an iconic triple-camera system comprising a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera, and 10MP 3x telephoto camera.
Older (but still plenty capable) chipset aside, the Galaxy S24 can still go toe-to-toe with current-generation flagship phones when it comes to its spec sheet. Take a look at the specs tables on our iPhone 17 review or Google Pixel 10 review, and you’ll spot similarities with the Galaxy S24.
And as for software, the Galaxy S24 runs Samsung’s One UI 8 and still has six guaranteed version updates, meaning you’ll be supported through to 2031.
