The Bone Temple needs to answer one major question
Major spoilers for 28 Years Later from here on.
28 Years Later had everyone talking with its abrupt, baffling ending. Some people loved it, others hated it, but one thing is clear: we need to know what’s going on.
As a reminder, Danny Boyle’s anticipated follow-up movie concluded with a darkly comical scene where Spike was rescued by a bizarre cult. It was jarring because it felt so out of place given the rest of the movie, hence the division among audiences.
Here, we saw Jack O’Connell dressed up Jimmy Savile, alongside his cult ‘The Jimmies’ who were all dressed up just like him too. We saw a lot of O’Connell in the trailer, so here’s hoping we’ll get some answers about why the cult has styled themselves after the disgraced television presenter. Spike seems trapped within their circle and there’s a real opportunity for director Nia DaCosta to hone in on the cult and give us some answers.
Beyond that, we’ve got Ralph Fiennes returning as Dr Ian Kelson, a former doctor and survivor of the outbreak, who seems to be a key part of the sequel.
I’m really looking forward to watching this and I’m hoping to have some loose ends tied up, as 28 Years Later set the stage for an interesting story.
