- The cast of Foundation have provided a new status update on season 4
- Apple hasn’t officially announced if another season will be made
- A February 2025 report suggested it had been greenlit internally
The cast of Foundation have shared a new and disappointing status update on the show’s potential fourth season.
Lou Llobell and Tomas Lemarquis, who play Gaal Dornick and Magnifico Giganticus in the Apple TV Original, told TechRadar that they still don’t know if another outing of the epic sci-fi series has been greenlit.
The pair’s comments come three months after Llobell and Jared Harris said they had no idea if Foundation season 4 was in development. Indeed, speaking to me in late June ahead of Foundation season 3’s debut in mid-July, Llobell and Harris were being kept in the dark over the space opera’s possible renewal.
Fast-forward to early September when I sat down with Llobell and Lemarquis to discuss this season’s finale, and neither star had received word about Foundation season 4 being in the works.
“No,” Lemarquis bluntly replied when I asked if he’d heard anything about a fourth installment of the Apple TV+ show. Thankfully, Llobell was a bit more forthcoming in what she did – or, rather, didn’t know – about Foundation‘s possible return on one of the world’s best streaming services.
“I wish I had more news for you,” Llobell said. “When I know, hopefully you will, too.”
For what it’s worth, a February 2025 report from Deadline indicated that Foundation season 4 was in development with a new showrunner at the helm. It’s plausible, then, that one of the best Apple TV+ shows will be back at some point. Fingers crossed Apple publicly announces another 10-chapter installment in the near future, especially with the season 3 finale set to arrive tomorrow (September 12).
Speaking of this season’s final entry, find out what time Foundation season 3 episode 10 should air on Apple TV+. Then, see what Llobell and Lemarquis have teased about Foundation season 3’s final episode.
