- HBO series Half Man has an emotional first-look trailer
- The series premieres on April 23, consisting of six episodes
- It’s the highly anticipated series from Baby Reindeer creator Richard Gadd
Baby Reindeer made a huge impression on Netflix viewers in 2024, and now creator Richard Gadd is back with an equally intense new series, Half Man.
A trailer for Half Man has been released, giving us a closer look at two men who grew up together and became a blended family after their respective mothers entered a relationship. Considering themselves to be brothers now, they had a close-knit bond until their big falling-out as adults.
Gadd stars alongside Jamie Bell in the series, with his character showing up at his estranged brother’s wedding, “leading to an explosion of violence.”

What are fans saying about Half Man?
So far, there’s been a largely positive response to the trailer, with many people bracing themselves for another emotional rollercoaster. Considering I could not stop crying at Baby Reindeer, I don’t blame them.
One YouTube commenter wrote: “Welp…gonna schedule my therapist appointment after watching this one.”
“Baby Reindeer was the best show I’ve seen in the last couple of years so I’m VERY excited for this one!!” another commenter said.
A third person agreed, saying, “Wow, rarely do trailers pack a punch nowadays but this one did for me. Incredible cast and the story looks like it’s going to be an intense journey of love, family, toxicity, and an all-round cold air of reality showcasing these sorts of complicated situations and relationships. So looking forward to its release.”
Half Man is definitely one of my most anticipated HBO shows of the year, and we don’t have long to wait now. I’m really hoping it can reach the same highs as Gadd’s Emmy award-winning predecessor, but we’ll have to wait and see.
