News Room

After the acclaimed run of Spider-Noir, Prime Video is ready to bring Gotham’s own noir nightmare back to your screen. The streamer just dropped the first trailer for Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2, and it confirms Edward Nygma’s Riddler alongside a glimpse of The Joker.

All ten new episodes of Batman: Caped Crusader will premiere together on July 31, giving fans a full season to binge the moment Gotham’s war truly begins.

Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 trailer and cast

The trailer leans heavily into Riddler, giving Edward Nygma a noir-appropriate menace that fits the show’s 1940s setting. It saves its biggest reveal for the very end, offering just a brief flash of The Joker, enough to confirm he will play a significant role this season. The series follows a young Bruce Wayne, voiced by Hamish Linklater, during his early, brutal years fighting crime in Gotham.

Returning cast members include Jamie Chung as Harley Quinn, Jason Watkins as Alfred, Eric Morgan Stuart as Commissioner Gordon, Krystal Joy Brown as Barbara Gordon, and Michelle C. Bonilla as Renee Montoya. Prime Video has not revealed who voices new characters like Carrie Kelley, Roxy Rocket, or The Joker himself, keeping it a mystery for now.

Batman: Caped Crusader’s journey from cancellation to renewal

This trailer also marks a survival story worth remembering. The show was originally pulled from HBO Max’s lineup by Warner Bros. Discovery alongside casualties like Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt, but Prime Video gave it the home and audience it deserved.

Amazon also made several other big animation announcements at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, including renewing Invincible for a sixth season. Prime video also revealed a new Helluva Boss trailer for season 3, and announced Genndy Tartakovsky’s Conan the Barbarian: Queen of the Black Coast.

Melissa Wolfe, Amazon’s Head of Animation, called the slate a reflection of the studio’s growing ambition in the space.
