Apple’s next major software update, iOS 27, appears set to revolve around a completely rebuilt Siri experience that goes far beyond voice commands.
According to Bloomberg’s illustrations, Siri will no longer feel like a pop-up assistant. Instead, it will live inside the iPhone’s Dynamic Island and act more like an always-available AI layer across the system.
Users will be able to trigger it the usual way, by saying “Siri” or holding the power button, but the response will now appear as a redesigned animation inside the Dynamic Island.
A second entry point is also planned: a swipe-down gesture from the top center of the screen that opens a “Search or Ask” interface, blending system search with AI chat.
A ChatGPT-style experience inside iOS
The leaked designs show Apple leaning heavily into a chatbot-style interface for Siri.
Bloomberg’s renderings depict a dedicated Siri app that resembles modern AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude, complete with chat history, text input, voice mode, and the ability to upload documents and images. Conversations can be revisited later, either in a list or a grid-style layout.
The interface may include multiple AI options, such as ChatGPT integration in a dropdown menu, allowing users to switch between Apple’s own system and external assistants.

AI everywhere: Search, camera, and photos
Beyond Siri itself, Apple is reportedly weaving AI deeper into iOS 27. Bloomberg reports that Apple is working on an AI-powered web search built into the system, along with the ability to route queries to third-party AI services.
The company is also said to be testing integrations with external AI models, including ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Anthropic’s Claude, allowing users to choose different assistants depending on the task. The Camera app is also expected to gain a new AI mode, replacing existing Visual Intelligence features. Users could analyze photos directly or send them to tools like Google reverse image search or external AI agents.
Meanwhile, the Photos app may gain new AI editing tools such as “Reframe” and “Extend,” which can adjust composition or generate missing parts of an image.
The redesigned Siri and iOS 27 AI features are expected to be officially previewed at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference on June 8. A full public release could arrive as early as September, likely alongside the next iPhone lineup.
