Apple TV+ has been putting out some great original shows lately, but none have compared to Severance. As one of the best Apple TV+ shows, it made headlines, broke records and won awards.
Dan Erickson’s excellent sci-fi series is riding that high into Severance season 3, but a new series is set to launch in November and it might be the only thing that’s truly able to steal Severance‘s crown.
Pluribus, the latest show from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul‘s Vince Gilligan, will arrive on the streaming service on November 7. The first two episodes are set to drop simultaneously, where they’ll hope to suck in audiences.
If you haven’t seen Pluribus‘ mysterious first teaser, you can take a look below.

Pluribus might be Apple TV+’s next big mystery show
A large part of Severance‘s appeal was the mystery of it all. What is Lumon? What weird stuff are they doing there? Well, Pluribus poses a similar question with its ambiguous marketing, including a creepy phone number that we recently called.
When you team Vince Gilligan with “creepy mystery vibes”, you get a recipe for something very special. I can imagine plenty of fans are itching to see what he’s cooked up, and it doesn’t appear to be crystal meth this time.
Instead, Pluribus seems to focus on a contagious virus which makes everyone happy. Our protagonist Carol, played by Better Call Saul‘s Rhea Seehorn, is described as “the most miserable person on earth” and it’s up to her to investigate this strange virus.
We already have so many questions. Carol is immune to this virus and appears to be the only one who is – so what’s so special about her? Why make this virus in the first place?
This gripping plot teamed with the star power means it could be the next best show for Apple TV+ and could even beat Severance‘s record as the most-watched show on the platform.
I’d even wager that Gilligan fans will get an Apple TV+ free trial just to watch Pluribus, and who could blame them? He hasn’t missed so far, so we’re all expecting good things. No pressure.
In other recent Apple TV+ news, Gavin & Stacey creators have revealed plans for a follow-up series coming to the service, so there are plenty of shows battling to beat Severance‘s coveted title of most watched Apple TV+ show.
But will anyone manage to do it? Only time will tell.
