Netflix is filled with stuff to watch. That’s the entire reason the streaming service exists. Unfortunately, all of that stuff makes it hard to figure out which things are actually worth your time. Thankfully, we’re here to help with that problem.
We’ve pulled out three great shows that are worth checking out this weekend. Whether you’re looking for a long-term commitment, something medium-sized, or something short but ongoing, this list has something for you. The genres represented are also pretty wide-ranging, and each one of these shows has flown under the radar, at least with some audiences. Without further ado, here are three underrated Netflix shows you should watch this weekend.

Arcane (2021-2024)
You might not think that an animated show set in the world of League of Legends would be for anyone but the biggest gamers on the planet, but Arcane is determined to prove you wrong. The show is set in a world where a surface city battles for power with its underground counterpart, and that struggle is personified through two sisters who have a major falling out after an incident in their youth.
Featuring stunning animation, some incredible plotting, and two brilliant vocal performances from Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) and Ella Purnell (Fallout), Arcane is better than it has any right to be. The second and final season is being released by Netflix in three installments throughout November, so you have more than enough time to catch up and finish one of the best animated shows in the last decade.

Gilmore Girls (2000-2007)
One of the most comforting shows ever made, Gilmore Girls is admittedly quaint by modern television standards, but it’s still a show everyone should watch at least once. The series focuses on a mother and daughter living in a small town in Connecticut as they navigate their love lives, their relationship with one another, and the wealthy family that they come from.
The show’s signature, incredibly dialogue-heavy approach to storytelling remains distinctive even by the standards of modern television, and Lauren Graham delivers one of the all-time great lead performances. Yes, it’s cutesy and unrealistic, but Gilmore Girls is most effective as a balm for all the real-world problems you want to avoid. Where it leads, we will follow.

Killing Eve (2018-2022)
One of the most unhinged TV shows in recent memory, Killing Eve tells the story of a sociopathic assassin and the MI-5 agent who becomes intrigued by her. Jodie Comer’s central performance is a huge part of what makes Killing Eve so effective, as is its mix of whimsy and genuinely graphic violence.
Over the course of four seasons, Killing Eve took a number of twists and turns, including some that you might wish they hadn’t taken. On the whole, though, the show’s international espionage, its captivating central performances, and its willingness to do things that most shows wouldn’t even dream of makes it well worth checking out
