Halloween is just under a week away, so there’s no better time to get together with friends and family for a few scary movies. Or if you don’t mind watching these flicks alone in the dark, then you can always view them by yourself. Either way, this week’s selections for the three great Hulu movies that you need to stream this weekend are all horror films. That includes Smile, the film that spawned the current box-office champion, Smile 2.
Our other picks include a low-key werewolf story and a film with a wild premise that you have to see to believe.
We also have guides to the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on Max, and the best movies on Disney+.
Smile (2022)
There are plenty of smiles in Smile, but very few that aren’t unsettling and creepy. Sosie Bacon stars in this breakout horror hit as Rose Cotter, a therapist who is unnerved when one of her patients, Laura Weaver (Caitlin Stasey), tells her about an entity that appears to her as people with sinister grins.
Once Rose witnesses the death of Laura, the curse attaches itself to her. The people in Rose’s life think she’s starting to go crazy as she reacts to the smiling entity that only she can see or hear. And if Rose can’t find a way to break the curse, then her death may doom some other poor soul to be cursed as well.

The Beast Within (2024)
Kit Harington had a dire wolf in Game of Thrones, and now he’s going the full werewolf in The Beast Within. Harington plays Noah, the father of Willow (Caoilinn Springall), a sickly young girl who is starting to wonder why the family lives such an isolated life. And also why her father’s mood can seemingly change on a dime from sweet to threatening.
Noah’s wife, Imogen (Ashleigh Cummings), tries some novel things to keep his wolf side under control, but there’s only so long she and her husband can keep the truth from Willow. And the real question is whether Willow inherited her father’s curse.

Late Night with the Devil (2023)
How far would you go to get ratings? Jack Delroy (David Dastmalchian) seems like he’s willing to go to hell and back in Late Night with the Devil. Although Jack may not immediately realize how much danger he’s in. On Halloween in 1977, Jack’s late-night show, Night Owls, is doing a themed episode for the occasion. He’s got a psychic, Christou (Fayssal Bazzi), a skeptic, Carmichael Haig (Ian Bliss), and a parapsychologist, June Ross-Mitchell (Laura Gordon). But the guest Jack really has to worry about is a 13-year-old girl, Lilly D’Abo (Ingrid Torelli).
Lilly just might be possessed by the devil or demons, and whatever’s inside of her isn’t going to let her go easily. And Jack’s just invited this evil to speak in front of a national audience… assuming Lilly isn’t crazy or faking. But as strange things start happening, even Jack may have to acknowledge that he’s made a huge mistake.
