Hulu doesn’t have all of the flashy original movies that Netflix gets, but it still has one of the most impressive lineup of films that you can stream. Even in the middle of the month, Hulu is adding films, including the pre-Civil War drama, Harriet, which arrives on Saturday, November 16. And that’s one of the three great Hulu movies that you need to stream this weekend.
Our other picks include an underrated comedy/drama, as well as a sci-fi action film that’s been overshadowed by the rest of the movies in its franchise.

Thelma (2024)
June Squibb plays the title character in Thelma. She’s a 93-year-old woman who isn’t ready to slow down and die. While Thelma is fiercely independent, she also relies on her grandson, Daniel (Gladiator 2‘s Fred Hechinger), to help her out. Unfortunately, a scammer targets Thelma by making her believe that Daniel needs to be bailed out of jail.
Furious at herself for falling for the lie, Thelma recruits her friend, Ben (Richard Roundtree), to help her recover her stolen money. Ben and Thelma also have some unfinished business with each other, and there are some hard feelings between them that may bring her quest to a premature end.

Predators (2010)
One Predator is more than enough to take out even the hardest soldiers on Earth. But we’re not on Earth anymore in Predators. An ex-U.S. Special Operations Forces soldier, Royce (The Brutalist‘s Adrien Brody), discovers that he’s been transported to an alien world, and he’s not alone. Isabelle (Alice Braga), Stans (Walton Goggins), Cuchillo (Danny Trejo), Mombasa (Mahershala Ali), Hanzo (Louis Ozawa Changchie), and Edwin (Topher Grace) have also been taken.
This makeshift group soon realizes that they’ve been kidnapped from Earth to serve as prey for a group of Predators. Each and every member was chosen because they’re either trained killers or have something in their background that makes them dangerous. The group also encounters Noland (Laurence Fishburne), a man who has managed to survive on the Predator game world. But even his luck may be running out as the Predators close in on their latest victims.

Harriet (2019)
Half a decade before she headlined the Wicked movie, Cynthia Erivo starred in Harriet, a dramatization of the life of Harriet Tubman. But when viewers meet Harriet, she’s still going by her slave name, Araminta “Minty” Ross. When efforts to free Minty fall short, she rebels against her owner, Gideon Brodess (Joe Alwyn), and escapes to safety.
However, escape isn’t enough for Minty, who renames herself Harriet after her mother. Harriet wants to free as many slaves as she can, and through her connection with abolitionist William Still (Leslie Odom Jr.), she leads runaways through the Underground Railroad. But Gideon can’t simply let Harriet go, and vows to bring her back in chains.
